[Colombia 2013] 3rd of April – El Dorado Airport Bogota
On April the 3rd FbD participated on the celebration of „El Mes Internacional de la Ninez”. In partnership with the ATAC, OPAIN, and Aeronautica Civil, FbD visited with a group of 100 children the International Airport El Dorado.
The day started at the Museum of the Colombian Air Force Base CATAM. Here, the children were able to take a tour to the museum were many actual aircrafts are exposed as well as most of the history of Colombian Aviation. FbD had the chance to teach the children here, how an airplane flies and showed them through our experiments the main physical concepts.
After this amazing experience thanks to the Colombian air force, we headed in three buses through the Airport’s terminal where children learnt all the interfaces and logistics that an airport needs to deal with every day. The tour ended in the hangar of a Colombian airline who borrowed us for a couple of minutes an aircraft and let the children experience being inside of a real flying airplane.
FbD is extremely thankful for the efforts of all the stakeholders that made this day possible. Special thanks to the ATAC who managed to synchronize all the organizations in order to let the children have this wonderful experience. FbD is looking forward to keep working together with the Colombian Aeronautic Industry in order to bring our industry closer to the Colombian childhood.
